Throw a dart at a newspaper these days and you're likely to hit an article mentioning Yemen. The Middle Eastern country was an obscure tract of land for most people until late last month when a certain terrorist who spent time training there made headlines.
But despite all the doom and gloom coverage of Yemen as the latest front on the War on Terror, how real a picture are we getting of what the country and the people are like. You could ask Mia Venster. She lived there for a month traveling, studying and taking in the culture. Mia likes to travel to distant and often overlooked corners of the world on her vacations. The rest of the time she lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. That's where we reached he for a conversation on traveling in Yemen.
