Where Iranian nuclear negotiations meet Laverne & Shirley

Posted at 10:43 AM on October 1, 2009 by Jeff Horwich (1 Comments)

Iranian nuclear talks are underway today, on the heels of a bunch of missile tests and the revelation about a second enrichment plant near Qom.

What are these guys doing? What's their strategy? What kind of diplomatic playbook are they calling from?

What a marvelous excuse for a tune born in the very narrow and creepy space where nuclear negotiations meet Laverne & Shirley...meets...Lord of the Rings, I guess.

Gotta give some serious credit to Sanden for a parody idea I'd never have thought of in 4.47 million years (the half-life of Uranium-238).

(Oh, and what the heck am I doing at the beginning? It's the same as the beginning of the TV show...only I'm counting in Farsi. And then saying the names of the two uranium enrichment sites. And changing "Hassenpheffer" to "Khomeini." That's all.)
