OK: If you saw that as the subject line of an email, you'd open it too, right?
That was waiting in my office inbox when I got in today. Turns out it was completely SFW ("Safe For Work," for those of you who need a new web acronym to add to your stable).
It refers to a book project called Beautiful Women of North Dakota. It's evidently a book of photography due out Summer of 2009. Here's how the photographer, Billy Black, describes the premise:
As my daughters were growing up I saw the pressures society places on women and the sometime negative effect striving for physical beauty can have on small girls. I wanted to do a project that would celebrate the inner beauty women have. As I researched beauty I soon realized ancient cultures felt differently about beauty, and I had a revelation to find these women of inner beauty.
Not much to the web site at present. While I'm sure men with a farm fetish might be disappointed, it seems like a worthy concept. (The image at right is one of the previews included on the site.)
But it suggests a thorny debate: Which women are actually more beautiful, on the inside or the outside: North Dakotan, or Minnesotan? Discuss.
