I thought I'd build on Sanden's recent blog post about the different categories of flip-flopping, from the nefarious to the noble.
I'm digging around, trying to suss out a real flip flopper from an accused flip flopper from someone who's just changed his or her mind, and I came across this video. It's the Mayor of San Diego, Jerry Sanders. Give it a listen. Make sure you have a tissue nearby.
Here we've got a Republican changing his position -- last minute -- in support of same-sex marriage, and he did it a day before formally kicking off his re-election campaign. Am I wrong, or does this seem rare?
