"Tiger for VP?"

Andrew Haeg and I went out to lunch yesterday (to the church next door, which serves up a killer soup and salad feast for the neighborhood every Wednesday) and somehow Tiger Woods came up. Andrew said something about whether Tiger might get into politics at some point. I suggested he might make an interesting choice to round out the Barack Obama ticket.

A reporter did ask him if he's thinking about getting into politics. Tiger's response was something like, "I've got plenty on my plate at the moment. My top priority remains getting that little white ball to go in the hole."

So....maybe.

In the end, doesn't it somehow seem inevitable that someone with that kind of name recognition, spit-and-polished image and diverse appeal gets drafted into politics? If I were to make a bad golf analogy, I'd say it's a two-foot putt.

Then again, does a guy with all that goodwill really want to risk it all by going through the political wringer?
