If you are reading this blog at work, maybe about to cruise YouTube a bit then go hang out by the coffee pot for a while, don't be ashamed! Slacking at the job may be good for you.

This article points out that giving your brain some down time can actually make you more productive in the long run. Just ask Archimedes, his big idea came while he was taking a bath, not while he was hard at work.

So if you are gonna slack off come do it with us! For our next episode of In the Loop we are going to look at how we are shaped by what we do. We are looking for submissions from you. Read below and send us something. We may put you on the radio. If your boss catches you tell them we said it was all right!

Do you live to work or work to live?

We are looking for short (two minutes or less) poems, plays, essays, songs, sound collages -- anything that can be expressed on the radio -- about your relationship with work. Bonus points if you create your submission at work and can prove it to us (a photo, a signed note from your boss).

Maybe your job is a perfect fit. Or perhaps you spend time at work searching job postings online. It could be that your work simply pays the bills and it's what you do in your free time that matters. Or maybe your job consumes your waking hours -- and even your dreams too.

No matter what your relationship with your job is like, we want to hear about it.

Please submit your work at If you have any questions, please contact Sanden Totten at -- if your work cannot be submitted online please send us an email and we'll work something out. Thanks!
