Legislative Kickoff

Posted at 3:57 PM on February 12, 2008 by Michael Marchio (4 Comments)

The smell of freshly photocopied bills, sour coffee and promises of bipartisanship can mean only one thing: the 2008 session has begun.

Our draft went off without a hitch, and we're hard at work entering the hundreds of bills already submitted by your lawmakers in the last 24 hours.

Later on tonight, I will be posting a detailed explanation of how the waiver system works, so make sure to check check back and get your questions answered.

And they're off and running!

The legislators have stormed onto the field with a flurry of bills.

Team MilVets is leading in the Maroon League!

Rep. Larry Haws leads in individual points, with 8 bills filed, and 20 points for committee hearings also.

Rep. Patti Fritz filed the most bills on the team, with 10.

With more committee meetings this week, Team MilVets should be racking up more points through Friday. Go Team!

Rep. Haws represents St. Cloud.

Governor Pawlenty will be delivering his annual State of the State Address in St. Cloud today.

Read the article here for quotes from Rep. Haws, and others:

Honestly, I can't seem to figure this out. How do I look at my team? I only remember who I requested, I don't know who I actually recruited.

Nancy is the only one who has responded to my previous question.
