Meanwhile, back in the building that's falling down...

Some issues that really haven't seen a substantial amount of light so far in this session emerge into the spotlight today as the Legislature returns to work.

In the Senate, the Judiciary Committee will consider the medical marijuana issue. It has some legs in the House based on the support of former speaker Steve Sviggum, but it's still a long shot to pass.

In the House, the process of looking for loose change in the couch cushions begins as the Taxes Committee considers "closing loopholes" in the form of "foreign corporations."

Back in the Senate, restrictions on ATV use, always a contentious issue, returns to a committee today. And energy issues are back with nuclear power bills among others being debated.

This could man a chance for legislators not named Moe, Slocum, or Abeler to get some points. None of those three has any bills before a committee today. Look for gains from Sen. Satveer Chaudhary, Sen. Ellen Anderson, and Sen. Dan Skogen today.
