A wild night

Posted at 3:29 PM on April 20, 2007 by Bob Collins (1 Comments)

It's like Super Bowl Sunday at the Capitol today. Friday being a "slow day" anyway, there's absolutely nothing going on, except for the "big game" in the House, where the health and human services funding bill is being debated (sorry, MFL, it's an omnibus bill).

From what we hear, it's expected to go until 2 a.m. Saturday. You might be interested in Marisa Helms' story on the mental health portion, Martiga Lohn's overview of the whole shebang, or even watch it yourself, as I intend to do through the evening when I get home, since I'm updating Votetracker, two Cuban cigars have found their way into my possession, and my wife is out of town.

Just me, the dog, and 134 of my closest friends.

Update 5pm - The gov signed four bills today. SF1133 (changes civil service provisions in St. Louis County), HF1004 (predatory lending practices outlawed), HF878 (Board of Animal Health consultants expanded to include the commish of agriculture) and HF472 (Renewable energy incentives). Big points for a few House members.
