Governor signs bills; awards points

Posted at 1:00 PM on March 28, 2007 by Bob Collins

Governor Pawlenty signed three bills today. HF1008 requires background checks for child placement. Rep. Sheldon Johnson is the only author on the bill and he gets all of the points! Johnson, by the way, has had four bills become law this year -- well ahead of anyone else in the Legislature.

Pawlenty also signed SF1168, which modifies the insurance requirements for manufactured homes installers and roofers. That's points for Sens. Scheid, Ortman and Sparks. And he signed SF1294, which authorizes Public Utilities Commission electronic filings. And that means points for Sens. Olseen; Clark; Sparks; Anderson; Rosen.

That's two "round trippers" for Dan Sparks. Too bad the Gold Leaguers left him in the free agent pool last week.
