Today's scoring

Posted at 1:51 PM on January 12, 2007 by Bob Collins

There are no committees in action at the Capitol today, at least ones taking up specific bills, and no floor sessions, so the filing of Senate bills 81-106 should conclude the updates for today.

Among the bills today (which actually will be officially filed on Tuesday):

  • Redefining "farming" for the purpose of the Minnesota Agriculture Development Act.
  • Establishing a school readiness board
  • Authorizing Hennepin and Wright counties to initiate a process fo the change of county boundaries. (You laugh, but this is just the type of bill to generate big points. Amy Koch is the sponsor.
  • Authorizing a grant for the mentoring of the kids of incarcerated parents.
  • Establishing state policy for stem cell research.
  • More money for travel expenses for legislators.

Overnight standings/points were also updated with "to floor" (TF) points for SF 19, terminating the legislative commission on metropolitan government.
