UPDATE: The Associated Press reports that a gay rights activist threw a cup of glitter at Romney as he walked to the stage at the start of the Eagan rally.

MPR News reporter Matt Sepic is covering Mitt Romney's campaigning today in the Twin Cities and reports that Romney was "glitter bombed" at an event in Eagan.

Glitter bombing -- throwing confetti or paper on a candidate during an event -- has become a protest of choice by some pranksters against Republicans. Newt Gingrich was glitter bombed last spring at a Minnesota event.
