State finance officials release the latest budget forecast today.
The news is already starting to leak out though. MPR News reporter Tom Scheck says the data, set for release at 11:30 a.m., show, "Minnesota's two year budget is running a surplus of $876 million dollars. The news is somewhat of a surprise, given that many lawmakers have been expecting a budget shortfall."
