The Minnesota Twins new stadium finally has a name: Target Field.
Terms of the 25-year partnership were not released, but I wonder if there will be a giant red bull's-eye in the outfield for hitters to take aim at.
We knew this day was coming and the ballpark wouldn't be named Twins Field or even Hennepin County Park. Are you happy with the name that was chosen or does the similarity (and proximity) to the Target Center leave you a bit under whelmed?
The Twins are paying $167.5 towards the construction of the new ballpark and getting $100 million back for its naming rights. Not a bad deal if you can get it.
