....it does. How do you blow a six run lead in the 9th??
It wasn't all Joe Nathan's fault, but he did blow his second save in four days. If the Twins finish with a sub .500 record in 2007, this may be the week that sealed the deal. It's little consolation for such a downer year, but finishing with a winning record does mean something to me. Am I in the minority?
All you cryin' Minnesota baseball fans out there must to new followers of the Twins. They've been hot and cold for near 50 years; sometimes unbeatable, too often embarrassing, but always interesting.
And I'll always be a fan no matter what. There's always another goal. We'll miss finishing second like I hoped 10 days ago, but finishing above .500 is still possible. That's what real fans do. Hope still springs eternal because there will always be next season.
The Twins have won two championships. Real fans of the Vikings, Timberwolves, Wild and the Northstars of old know what I mean. Those teams have no championships, but their fans continue their support no matter what.
It's sports, it's fun.
