In baseball, they keep stats for everything. However, I still can’t believe what I just read.
When Justin Morneau homered twice in Texas on May 22, it marked the third consecutive Tuesday that the Canadian had clubbed multiple homeruns in a game.
It turns out no player had ever hit multiple homeruns on a Tuesday in three consecutive weeks. In fact, no one in major league history had ever hit multiple homeruns on the same day of any week three weeks in a row.
In case you’re wondering, Morneau only homered once this Tuesday ending the streak. His bid to make it four Tuesdays in a row with two or more homers fell about six inches shot of clearing the baggie in right.
Regardless, the Angels might want to pitch around him next week.
