Two steps back in Texas

I'm not going to get into the ugliness of last night's drubbing, other than to say that I fear we're in for a long stretch of the bad Carlos Silva. But there were some good signs, like the 31 pitches they made Vicente Padilla throw in the first inning. Watch out, Central Division!

That kind of patience starts with Luis Castillo, who only went 1-4 last night, but had two at-bats while the game was still close where he worked a full count. That's a good leadoff hitter. Castillo also has an errorless sterak of 130 games, which according to the Strib is a major league record.

And in other bad news, Joe Christensen is reporting that Glenn Perkins has joined the Twins crowded disabled list.
