Minnesota's batters jump all over Milwaukee starter Chris Capuano to score two runs in the 1st inning, and Shannon Stewart leads off the 2nd with a hit in his first at-bat off the DL:
"Ooh, it's going to be one of those games."
" :) "
The Brewers score three runs in the 3rd, after Torii Hunter and Jason Kubel get their wires crossed on a fly ball by Geoff Jenkins, while an unusually tetchy Carlos Silva allows batters to spray hits all over the field:
"Eww, it's going to be one of those games."
" :( "
The Twins take the lead back in the bottom of the 3rd, thanks to hard-hit balls and sketchy Milwaukee fielding, and both lineups are officially off to the races:
"Ohhh, it's going to be one of those games."
" ;) "
In the 5th inning, Milwaukee knocks a frustrated Silva out of the game with a hailstorm of singles, taking a 7-6 lead:
"Oy, it's going to be one of those games."
" :p "
Luis Castillo leads off the bottom of the 8th inning with a walk; Punto sacrifices him to second; Mauer flies out; Milwaukee closer Derrick Turnbow comes on for a 4-out save; Cuddyer patiently works a full count, then clobbers a fastball for an RBI triple. Turnbow intentionally walks Morneau, then hits Torii with a pitch, then tosses a four-pitch walk to Shannon, pushing the winning run across. Jason Kubel then drives in two insurance runs, and Shannon gets thrown out at 3rd to end the rally:
"Wow! It sure has been one of those games!"
" :D "
Joe Nathan apparently decides that this game hasn't been crazy enough yet, and gives up singles to the first two batters he faces in the 9th before inducing a double play and striking out Corey Koskie to close the books on a game in which the two teams totalled 29 hits:
"Whew, I guess it was just one of those games."
" X) "
