The Twins today cut Bret Boone, a total waste of time whose addition to the roster created the illusion that the team was addressing a need. Can we now please lay to rest the claim that "a change of scenery" has anything to do with the ability to hit a baseball?
Frankly, I'd have enjoyed watching Soriano in this lineup, even it was only for two months. At least it would be interesting and entertaining.
I can't, for the life of me, recall the last time a Metrodome crowd went wild in the way Fenway fans went wild for Manny on Sunday. There are players who fans just get excited about seeing come to bat, no matter what the situation.
I miss that.
