You can now add Strib writer Jim Souhan to the Joe Randa booster club, along with Dave Z, Hans, and frightwig.
After reviewing big-league rosters and salaries, only one name jumps out at me as a quintessential Twins acquisition: Reds third baseman Joe Randa.He's making only $2.15 million on a one-year contract. Randa is hitting .292 with 11 homers and 38 RBI. And he plays one of the positions the Twins need to upgrade.
I've been on the Randa Bandwagon since before they lost Koskie.

The Shooter from the PP says that Burroughs is a possibility:
The rationale is that Twins starting pitcher Kyle Lohse could bring some needed hitting in a trade, perhaps San Diego Padres third baseman Sean Burroughs, who is expendable. Twins third baseman Michael Cuddyer could move to second base.
