Instead of all the positive coverage about amazing April starts by otherwise average players, we need a little dose of reality. Not to rain on everybody's April parade, but we need some truth. ESPN.com's David Schoenfield delivers it for your favorite team.

I woke up on Sunday morning, picked up a copy of the Star Tribune off my front porch and read the headline “Twins, Hennepin have stadium deal.” I did a double take. Is this a cruel joke? Did someone replace my “Strib” with The Onion? When I turned to the sports section, I expected to see that Corky Miller was leading the American League in hitting and that the Twins had traded Nick Punto to the Yankees for A-Rod.
Doesn’t the fact that this agreement came out of nowhere and seems so simple scare anyone but me? Maybe I am too cynical, but after over a decade filled with doomed proposals, failed bills and political grandstanding, I am more than a little skeptical. For now I am going to hold my breath and keep my fingers crossed until the ground breaking ceremony – I’ll be there front and center – seeing is believing.
