Sarah Ashworth joined MPR's Morning Edition in October 2011. Before coming to MPR, she served as producer for NPR's nationally syndicated program, The Diane Rehm Show. She has worked as a reporter and a producer for Vermont Public Radio, where she also worked on the daily news program, "Vermont Edition." Sarah has taught as an associate professor of journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia. While in Columbia, Sarah was the news director at KBIA Radio. Among other achievements, Sarah received a National Edward R. Murrow award for a radio documentary about being prepared for earthquakes in the New Madrid Fault Line region of Missouri. Originally from Eagan, Minn., Sarah now lives in Minneapolis. In her free time, she enjoys walking along the Mississippi River, practicing yoga and reading fiction. Sarah enjoys the unpredictability of news and that she gets to dig into a different topic each day.
