Susan Leem joined Minnesota Public Radio in 2004 after working at NPR. She got her start in radio in 1997 reading AP copy off of a dot matrix printer for Saturday morning newscasts at WCWS in Wooster, Ohio. She has worked as a DJ for music shows, hosted public affairs programs and produced stories for KFAI and KUOM at the University of Minnesota, where as news director she moved reporters out of the dark ages of minidisc editing and onto Pro Tools. She was born in Germany, raised in Niceville, Florida and lives in Columbia Heights, Minn. with her partner and daughter.
