APMG is a tax-exempt nonprofit parent support organization that provides administrative, financial, and human resources services to its supported organizations, Minnesota Public Radio|American Public Media and The Fitzgerald Theater Company, and to Southern California Public Radio and Classical South Florida, and provides financial and human resources services to its wholly owned forprofit subsidiary, Greenspring Company. APMG operates Public Radio Market, the Pretty Good Goods catalog and The Lake Wobegon USA Store under license from MPR|APM. APMG is a significant shareholder of Gather.com, a forprofit company that provides community and commerce services to the public radio audience. Gather also has content license agreements with MPR|APM and SCPR.

The mission of American Public Media Group is to provide significant long-term financial strength to its supported organizations.

Minnesota Public Radio | American Public Media

Minnesota Public Radio | American Public Media (MPR|APM) is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization that produces and acquires radio programming of community value, combines these programs into a nonprofit radio service of the highest quality for broadcast through a network of radio stations to the people of Minnesota and its border communities, and reflects the culture, events, issues, and ideas of Minnesota and its people in radio broadcasts designed for national and international audiences. Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) is the name under which the organization pursues its regional activities. American Public Media (APM) is the name under which the organization pursues its national program production and distribution activities.

The mission of Minnesota Public Radio regionally and American Public Media nationally is to enrich the mind and nourish the spirit, thereby enhancing the lives and expanding the perspectives of our audiences, and assisting them in strengthening their communities.

MPR|APM owns the Fitzgerald Theater and operates the theater through its Fitzgerald Theater Company subsidiary.

MPR|APM is a subsidiary of APMG, in that a majority of the Trustees on the Board of MPR|APM are elected by or approved by the APMG Board, all of whom also serve on the MPR|APM Board.

Southern California Public Radio

Southern California Public Radio (SCPR) is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization that produces and acquires programming of community value and combines these programs into a nonprofit radio service of the highest quality for broadcast to the people of Southern California and the nation, including the production and broadcast of local, West Coast and Pacific Rim news and information programming.

SCPR operates KPCC FM in Pasadena and KUOR in Redlands pursuant to a Public Service Operating Agreements with Pasadena City College and the University of Redlands, and streams its program service worldwide on its Web site.

SCPR is a subsidiary of APMG, in that the Trustees on the Board of SCPR are appointed by the APMG Board upon recommendation of the SCPR Board. At least 75 percent of such Trustees must be residents of Southern California.

Classical South Florida (CSF)

CSF is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to the broadcast of classical music in South Florida. CSF programming includes broadcasts of nationally renowned classical programs such as Performance Today®, SymphonyCast®, Pipedreams® and Saint Paul Sunday®. Classical South Florida began broadcasting on October 24, 2007 on WKCP 89.7 FM Miami, and on 101.9 FM in West Palm Beach.

CSF is a subsidiary of APMG.

Greenspring Company

Greenspring is a taxable forprofit company that engages in communications activities that support the mission and goals of American Public Media Group (APMG), but are more properly pursued by a taxable entity. It does so through the ownership of operating subsidiaries. Greenspring provides leadership, capital investment and financial oversight to these subsidiaries. Currently, its sole operating subsidiary is Greenspring Media Group (formerly Minnesota Monthly Publications). Up until April 15, 1998, Greenspring owned Rivertown Trading Company, a direct marketing organization with approximately $195 million in annual sales, which was sold to the Target Corporation. Up until March 1, 2004, Greenspring owned The MNN Radio Networks, a regional commercial radio network with approximately $4 million in annual sales, whose assets were sold to Saga Communications Corporation. Up until September 7, 2005, Greenspring owned The KLBB Company, whose assets were sold to Davidson Media Group.

Greenspring Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of APMG.

Greenspring Media Group Inc

GMG (formerly Minnesota Monthly Publications) is a taxable forprofit company that engages in printed communications activities, primarily through the publication of Minnesota Monthly, an advertiser- and subscriber-supported monthly magazine that GMG publishes for MPR. GMG also publishes Midwest Home & Garden and TC Taste in conjunction with Minnesota Monthly, various publications under license from the Greater Minneapolis Convention and Visitors Association, Where magazine in the Twin Cities area as a franchisee of Where International, Meetings: Minnesota's Hospitality Journal as a guide for meeting planners for meetings in Minnesota, and Real Food, a national lifestyle magazine featuring natural foods. GMG also engages in various consumer show promotions, including the Twin Cities Food & Wine Experience, which it operates under contract with MPR, and the Luxury Home Tour in the Twin Cities, Chicago, and Naples.

GMG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Greenspring.
