New Native Theatre held its fourth annual Two-Spirit Powwow at the Minneapolis American Indian Center on Tuesday evening. Attendees gathered for an evening of celebration, community and support.

The U.S. government is suing Minnesota over a state law extending eligibility for in-state tuition to people without legal immigration status. The lawsuit argues the Minnesota Dream Act which was passed more than a decade ago, discriminates against citizens from other states.

There have been two deadly shootings at Minneapolis parks this month.

“They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law,” then-Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the June 26, 2015, ruling legalizing same-sex marriage. “The Constitution grants them that right.”

Carlos A. Hernandez won in a close race, according to special election results shared by the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa.  

The man accused of killing former DFL House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark worked briefly at the University of Minnesota until the day before the June 14 attacks. According to documents obtained by MPR News, Vance Boelter worked as a recovery technician until June 13.
