(AP) A Minneapolis Park Police officer has died, more than a week after he was struck by a Minneapolis squad car while chasing a suspect.
Police say 34-year-old Mark Bedard died about noon Friday at North Memorial Medical Center. He was struck November 1st.
Bedard was a 12-year veteran of the park force.
Bedard was running after a suspect when he was hit in an alley by the squad car, which was also pursuing the suspects.
The officers were responding to a report of shots fired in north Minneapolis.
