What is the name of the song about sea molecules falling in love?

Hi! There was a song played on The Morning Show about 3 - 4 weeks ago that was about molecules falling in love in the sea to create table salt. Would it be possible to e-mail me the artist and the name of that song? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you and keep up the excellent work!

Hello Amanda, I usually don't have much luck identifying songs based solely on their subject matter. Fortunately, there have not been many songs written about the romantic entanglements of inorganic compounds, so this one was easy.

The song you're looking for is called "NACL (The Sodium Chloride Song), written and performed by Michael Cooney. It was originally released on The Morning Show's first "Keepers" disc. That CD has been out of print for a number of years, but you can still find it on the "Best of Keepers" CD, which you can order here.
