Asking tax payers to save hospitals in the name of saving jobs sounds out of date, out of touch and inefficient. Health care has major problems in billing, collecting, insurance, services, rising costs that are out of reach for many working families. Politicians should fix it, not throw more state money into a failing business model.

Are hospital closures an urgent care opportunity?
The state certainly could get away closing some rural hospitals. However, there is a need then for smaller local urgent care facilities or localized clinic facilities to accomodate those that are sick and need care. Consider what services should a hospital be providing, at what location and at what size?
