About Local Current

Because Minnesota music is vital to The Current and our fair state, we created Local Current, a one-stop hub of all-Minnesota music.

At its core, a 24/7 stream of music dedicated entirely to musicians from Minnesota, available via our webstream, mobile apps or HD Radio in the Twin Cities at 89.3 HD2.

On the Local Current blog, we uncover the music news, events, history and new bands to provide the context and information for what's going on.

Sundays at 6 p.m. we feature an in-depth 2-hour radio program of the best local music, featuring live performances and interviews with the people who make the local music scene happen.
