We've partnered with KEXP in Seattle, WA, to swap 5 of each city's favorite bands and play them on the air. Each night at 6:30, Mark Wheat will talk with KEXP's Kevin Cole and play one song from the Twin Cities and one from Seattle, proving that there's more to Minnesota than Prince and the Replacements, and that Seattle's not all about 20-year old grunge records.

Mark Wheat is heard weekdays 6-10 p.m. on The Current and a DJ with the station since it launched in 2005. He tries to emulate his hero, the late, great BBC DJ John Peel, introducing new music to the audience by mixing it with songs they know and love. Wheat was raised near Cambridge, England, permanently relocating to the United States in 1983.
Host of "The Afternoon Show" (Mon-Fri, 2-6 pm): A diverse mix of new releases, “sneak-peaks” at forthcoming releases, seminal vintage tracks, rarities, b-sides, and in-studio performances. I attempt to surprise, delight, educate, and enlighten, juxtaposing seemingly incongruous styles in a way that creates context, meaning, or a good laugh.
