Jacquie Fuller, Host

I admit it. I’m not an album girl. I appreciate the artistry of an album, but even when I was a kid I’d record my favorite tracks from records onto mixed tapes. Working in radio has made me even more track-happy. Consequently, I never feel right making a list of any year’s BEST albums – I’m no expert. But I can humbly submit this list of albums I’ve really enjoyed this year - plus why I dig them, in ten words or less.

  • 7. Washed Out — Within and Without — Make-out music for grown-ups.
  • 6. St. Vincent — Strange Mercy— Annie Clark! Now with more teeth!
  • 5. Girls — Father, Son, Holy Ghost — Solid, cozy, Costello-esque. House slippers for your ears.

  • 3. M83 — Hurry Up, We're Dreaming — One big, shimmering teenage fever dream. On two discs!
  • 2. Cults — Cults — Wistful, acerbic, teenybop pop. The Supremes on acid.
