Artistic Statement

I love composing because of the infinite possibilities I find laid out in front of me. There are so many choices to make, and so many different ideas I can express. With music, there is nothing I can't say. I love being able to experiment with new sounds, and using them to create meaningful and enjoyable music. I want people to be strongly affected by my music. My favorite part of composing is when people listen to my music and tell me they felt something. In my piece "Matematica" I explore the contrast between formulaic methodology and human emotion. It represents a lot about me and the way I feel about composition.
