Choral Stream

Music for Singing

We've created our 24/7 choral stream for one reason: we love this music. We want to share our favorites and some beautiful surprises with you. What'll you hear? A big range from Palestrina to Pärt, spirituals to Schubert, and new work by Whitacre, Lauridsen, Paulus, and more wonderful contemporaries. You'll discover great professional choirs, college choirs, amateur choirs, church choirs... anytime you want! Hit the Feedback link and tell us what you'd like to hear more of. We'll update the stream regularly, so chime in. And enjoy the music!

Choral features from Classical MPR

  • New Classical Tracks: The Warmth of Christmas from the Sunny South
Miami-based Seraphic Fire's new album, 'Candlelight Carols', captures the beauty of the group's live holiday performances. It also includes works by Minnesota composers Jake Runestad and Abbie Betinis. What's more, you can enter for a chance to win a copy of the CD.December 10, 2014
  • My first St. Olaf Christmas Festival
Friday's excursion to Northfield was, for me, an entry to a new world: a world of those Lutheran traditions that I'd heard Garrison Keillor talk about but I'd rarely experienced firsthand.December 9, 2014
  • St. Olaf Christmas Festival leaves lasting impressions
For Sarah Stevens, who graduates in 2015, and for Martha Kunau, who graduated in the 1990s, the St. Olaf Christmas Festival is a tradition and experience that leaves a lasting impression -- whether or not one ever attended the college.December 5, 2014
