Death of an Institution
After 11 years of advocating for and promoting arts reporting, the National Arts Journalism Program is closing down. The N-A-J-P was run by the Columbia University School of Journalism. We look at what has been lost through the death of this institution.

Art & Economics
As cities around American continue to climb back from the 2001 recession, there have been a number of strategies tried to revive dying or abandoned downtowns including, in some places, the arts. There's a belief among many that artists can turn a neglected downtown into an oasis of galleries, coffee houses, hip stores and crowds of people. We look at where this strategy has worked, where it hasn't, and why.
