This week in the arts, Eric Booth, author of "The Art of Everyday Life", will join us to take your questions about how to be more artistic yourself. Plus, we remember the days when Duluth rocked and Marianne Combs checks in with the Minneapolis Mosaic orchestra.
Eric Booth
Have you ever looked at works of art or listened to music that moved you and wondered how these artists are able to produce such great works, and how you can be more creative? Eric Booth, author of "The Art of Everyday Life", has written a book that explores the creativity in art and how to incorporate art in our daily lives. We take your calls.
When Duluth rocked
You might not remember the band QuickBreath -- unless you were growing up in Duluth 30 years ago. They were a big deal back then. They played bars and dances. And they got on the radio—in Duluth. That was before a few monster companies owned most radio stations. Back then, bands could get their records played on the local rock station. Chris Julin reports on a new CD that features some of the local music that got onto the radio during the seventies.
A new musical mosaic for Minneapolis
Part of the mission of Minneapolis Mosaic is to commission new art in Minnesota. This year's commission was awarded to composer Cary John Franklin. Marianne Combs reports on Franklin's piece which will be conducted by Dr. Jean Montes and premiered at the Twenty-Four Hour Day of Music at Orchestra Hall.
