Today in State of the Arts, we celebrate National Poetry Month with Duluth poet, Barton Sutter. Also, award-winning children's book author, Phyllis Root, talks about how she created her new book about the creation. And, we check in a local artist getting his studio ready for art crawlers.
National Poetry Month
In recognition of National Poetry Month, Marianne and Dominic will read some verses of personally chosen poems. Plus, Barton Sutter, a writer and poet from Duluth will talk about the state of poetry and who he would nominate to be the state poet laureate if we had one.

Have you ever thought of how you would explain genesis to a child? Phyllis Root, a children's book author, has a unique take. She drops in to discuss her new book, "Big Mamma Makes the World".
