Italian baritone Enrico Marrucci and Chinese baritone Chen-Ye Yuan make their company debuts in the title role of the double-cast production. Tenors Vinson Cole and Scott Piper debut as the Duke, and sopranos Evelyn Pollock and Genevieve Christianson share the role of Gilda. Twin Cities director Casey Stangl (Norma) returns to direct this new Minnesota Opera production, which is being designed by the company's Scenic and Lighting Director Tom Mays, with costumes by Costume Director Gail Bakkom. John Keenan (Otello, Norma) returns to conduct.


Gaetano Donizetti: Lucrezia (Minnesota Opera production)
The Minnesota Opera has assembled an international star-studded cast for its first performances of this work, which promises to be the Bel Canto event of the year. Leading the cast are Bruce Ford (La clemenza di Tito) as Lucrezia's unwitting son Gennaro, Minnesota Opera favorite Vivica Genaux (La cenerentola, Semiramide, The Capulets and the Montagues) as the gang leader Maffio Orsini, and Dean Peterson (Don Carlos) as Alfonso. Camil Marinescu conducts, and British director David Edwards makes his company debut with this new Minnesota Opera production, which is designed by Scenic and Lighting Director Tom Mays and Costume Director Gail Bakkom.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: The Magic Flute
Guido Johannes Rumstadt returns to conduct this beloved 1997 Minnesota Opera production, which features enchanting sets and costumes by Susan Benson. In this double-cast presentation, Patrick Marquez and Daniel Montenegro alternate as the romantic hero Tamino, and Pamela Armstrong and Karin Wolverton (Lucia di Lammermoor, Norma) appear as the heroine Pamina. Basses Alfred Walker (La clemenza di Tito) and Matt Boehler (La boheme, The Merry Widow) alternate as Sarastro, soprano Amand Pabyan is the Queen of the Night, baritones Carlos Archuleta (La boheme, Little Women) and Andrew Wilkowske (Tosca, The Merry Widow) share the role of Papageno, and Genevieve Christianson appears as Papagena.
