About the Program
Musicheads is where hosts from The Current gather each week to share their opinions about some of the CDs that have recently caught their ears. It's their opportunity to stretch-out and be a bit more conversational - and opinionated - than usual.

We want to truly get you in on our discussions much more than before, by soliciting your feedback on our weekly opinion-sessions at Gather.com.

Musicheads for May 13, 2008
Continuing The Current's celebration on Minnesota's 150th birthday this month, we've got an episode that's jam-packed with local music this time. Overflowing with it, in fact; not three, not four, but five discs this week: Tapes n' Tapes "Walk It Off," Doomtree's "False Hopes," Dosh's "Wolves and Wishes," Cloud Cult's "Feel Good Ghosts (Tea Partying Through Tornadoes)," and Atmosphere, "When Life Gives You Lemons..." Plus, in keeping with our local theme, we asked, "What's your favorite Replacements song, and why?" The Current's local music gurus Chris Roberts and Dave Campbell were my guests. (s)

This week we're posing the question: Is there any music that's been ruined for you though its association with an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend? For our CD discussion, the Musicheads dipped into the recent archives for an encore broadcast, where Mac Wilson, our Music Director Melanie Walker, and Bill DeVille talked about "Magnetic Fields' "Distortion," Yoav's "Charmed & Strange," and Shelby Lynne's Dusty Springfield tribute, "Just A Little Lovin'." DeVotchKa's latest, "A Mad and Faithful Telling," Foals' "Antidotes" and Billy Bragg's "Mr. Love and Justice" were under the microscope this week. Also, we asked the question, "Was there any pop music that scared you when you were a little kid?" Mark Wheat and Mac Wilson were my guests. (s)

Musicheads for April 22, 2008
Gnarls Barkley's much anticipated sophomore disc, "The Odd Couple" was among CDs discussed this week, as was the latest from Moby, "Last Night," and Jim Noir's new self-titled effort. Also, we pondered the question, "What's the most money you've ever shelled out for a show — and what was the show?" Mark Wheat and The Current's Assistant Music Director David Safar were my guests. Musicheads for April 15, 2008
Dave Campbell and Tony Lopez joined me this week to size up The Black Keys' "Attack and Release," Destroyer's "Trouble In Dreams," and the sophomore effort from The Raconteurs, "Consolers of the Lonely." Also, we asked, "Who was the artist to first make you aware that music could have a political or social dimension?" (s)
