    The number of couples who cohabitate without marrying has doubled since the 1990s. According to 2010 census, the number of unmarried couples in Minnesota went up by more than 40 percent while marriages increased by 4 percent. The trend can be seen nationwide, as well. She also serves as Co-Chair and Director of Public Education at the Council on Contemporary Families. Her latest book is "A Strange Stirring: The Feminine Mystique and American Women at the Dawn of the 1960s."
    Sharon Sassler: Associate professor of the Department of Policy Analysis & Management at Cornell University. Her current projects examine the tempo of relationship progression, the processes underlying entrance into cohabiting unions and the meaning cohabitors assign to their unions.
