Dr. Olivier Ameisen has tried to persuade the medical community to test what he says is a highly effective cure for alcoholism: a decades-old muscle relaxant called baclofen. Now, a Dutch donor has given half-a-million euros to conduct a rigorous study of the drug. Is this a major step in improved addiction treatment?
