  • Two Minnesota teachers $25,000 richer
    Two Minnesota teachers had a pleasant surprise Thursday. Sharon Ornelas of Minneapolis and Thomas Tusken of Duluth discovered they had each won a prestigious Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award. Some 80 teachers nationwide will receive the $25,000 prizes this month.11:00 a.m.
    Sharon Ornelas: Teaches English as a second language at Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis.
    Thomas Tusken: Teaches social studies at Denfeld High School in Duluth.
  • Kirby Puckett's modern tragedy on stage
    Twenty-years ago this month, Kirby Puckett led the Minnesota Twins to their first World Series victory. A new play at the History Theatre in St. Paul explores the Hall-of-Famer's tragic life as an adored sports icon struggling with off-the-field troubles.12:00 p.m.

    Ansa Akyea: Actor. Akyea stars as Kirby Puckett in the play.
