MPR's Arthur Hoehn headed to Hall of Fame
MPR's first classical music announcer, Arthur Hoehn, is inducted into the Museum of Broadcasting Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 9, 2010. Best known for hosting "Music Through the Night," Arthur joins Midday to discuss his 40-year career in radio.12:00 p.m.GuestsArthur Hoehn: MPR's first classical music announcer. His 40-year career in broadcasting began at KSJU, KWFM, KFAM, WAYL and WLOL in Minnesota...then in 1966 he worked with Bob Smith (aka Wolfman Jack) at XERB in Mexico. In 1967 he became classical music announcer at KSJR, the flagship station of what would become Minnesota Public Radio. He hosted broadcasts of the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and other college music performances. Arthur occasionally appeared on the Morning Show, but is best known for the 12 years he hosted "Music Through the Night." Arthur Hoehn retired from MPR in 2002 and is inducted into the Museum of Broadcasting Hall of Fame on October 9, 2010.Resources
