Larry Sand: Retired teacher. Sand taught in Los Angeles for nearly three decades. He is the founder of the California Teachers Empowerment Network.
Kate McLaughlin: Elementary teacher in the Lowell, Massachusetts public schools since 1999. McLaughlin serves as the executive vice president of the United Teachers of Lowell #495, a local of the American Federation of Teachers.
Gary Smuts: Superintendent of the ABC Unified School District. Smuts was named 2009 Superintendent of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators.
