Steve SarviSteve Sarvi ANSWER OPTION: It is important that we have standards and testing by which to evaluate our children's progress in school; however, they have to measure the right things like individual progress.
CANDIDATE'S POSITION: It is important that we have standards and testing by which to evaluate our children's progress in school; however, they have to measure the right things -- for example, individual progress -- and they shouldn't be used to punish schools and the communities in which they reside by labeling them "failures" and revoking funding.
