Stem cell research Do you believe federally-funded stem-cell research should be expanded to allow for additional embryonic stem cell research? ANSWER OPTION
One does not need to destroy a human embryo to do stem cell research, there are other sources of stem cells.

CANDIDATE'S POSITION
I believe a human life and human being begin at conception. I oppose abortion, I believe we should respect and protect life. I know as a doctor and medical researcher that one does not need to destroy a human embryo to do stem cell research, that there are other sources of stem cells. (More Info)

Immigration What is your stance on immigration? ANSWER OPTION
Those who do not have legal residency status and wish to live and work in the United States should be required to return to their home countries and apply for legal residency.

CANDIDATE'S POSITION
I believe that illegal immigration works as a hidden tax on the American middle class by driving down wages and increasing the cost of social services. Those who do not have legal residency status and wish to live and work in the United States should be required to return to their home countries and apply for legal residency. Amnesty is not the answer. We should not reward those who have broken our laws. (More Info)

War in Afghanistan What changes would you propose to the war policy in Afghanistan ANSWER OPTION
We should work to support the democratically elected governments of Iraq and Afghanistan for as long as we can and as long as these governments support our presence. At some point a popular referendum in these countries regarding our continued military presence may be appropriate.
