NBC will broadcast the Summer Olympics in Beijing starting Aug. 8 and has announced an unprecedented amount of coverage: 3,600 hours of programming over 17 days. That number includes 2,200 hours of streaming video on NBCOlympics.com. The TV coverage will spread across NBC's many platforms, including its broadcast network, Telemundo, and USA Network, MSNBC, CNBC, Bravo and Oxygen. Rich Sands with TV Guide says NBC has gone far beyond the 1,200 hours of coverage at the 2004 games in Athens.
