Police Officers Indicted in Post-Katrina Shooting

by Adam Hochberg, NPR

Seven police officers in New Orleans have been indicted in the deaths of two men and the wounding of four others in the chaotic days following Hurricane Katrina.

The indictments stem from a series of shootings on a New Orleans bridge. Witnesses say the victims were unarmed, but lawyers for the police officers say the shootings were justified.
