Gay-Marriage Advocates Regroup After Latest Defeat

Proponents of gay marriage are weighing their options after a surprising defeat before the Washington State Supreme Court, which ruled in favor of a statewide ban on gay marriage.

The decision was the second defeat for gay-marriage advocates in recent weeks. New York State's highest court reached a similar conclusion in early July. Opponents of gay marriage say the decision will push the debate into state legislatures.
