At least 40 pizzas were delivered Thursday night to Republican offices for "private coercion sessions," according to the Washington Post.
Unlike the U.S. government, Al's Gourmet Pizza is in no danger of default. Fourteen blocks away from the Capitol building, Al's Gourmet Pizza employee Abdul Mohammed was inundated with orders for pizza at lunchtime Friday — many bound for Congress.
"They keep calling," he says. "I'm very, very busy right now."
That's all Mohammed had time to say. He was busy hammering pizza dough into shape. Busy, but happy.
