Verizon Wireless Partners With Skype

Verizon Wireless announced that its smart phone users will be able to use the Internet phone company Skype. It's the first U.S. carrier to allow Skype on its network. Mobile companies have long shunned these free or low-cost calling services, which let customers circumvent the usual way to make calls — which is how carriers make money.
